COF: CU Boulder Education Abroad programs are not COF-eligible nor will the credit earned count toward the 145 lifetime credit limits.

Non-Resident Fee: State of Colorado policy requires that non-residents must pay more than residents for CU Boulder credit. As such, Education Abroad program Fees for non-residents include an additional charge, currently set at $1800. The fee is subject to change and is used to suport CU Boulder Education Abroad. The fee does not apply to CU Boulder Global Intensives.

Instructional costs, housing & meals for the academic period, field trips, international health insurance, and administrative fees to CU Boulder Education Abroad.

Items included in the Estimated Costs

Round-trip travel to program site, housing & meals during semester break, passport fees, immunizations, additional course materials and personal expenses. NOTE: The cost estimates do not include personal travel.

Fee Exceptions

  • For students who choose any option other than what is included in the base program fee (i.e. Open Water SCUBA certification & gear), you will be billed additional fees paid directly to SFS.
  • You are responsible for an additional application fee paid directly to SFS. This fee is non-refundable if you withdraw from the program.

If for any reason you withdraw before or during the course of the program, CU Boulder Education Abroad and SFS must be notified in writing. You are responsible for the corresponding withdrawal fee based on the date of your withdrawal. Any fees paid directly to SFS, such optional add-ons or additional fees, are not included in the withdrawal fee schedule and may or may not be refunded by SFS.
