COF: CU Boulder Education Abroad programs are not COF-eligible nor will the credit earned count toward the 145 lifetime credit limits.

Non-Resident Fee: State of Colorado policy requires that non-residents must pay more than residents for CU Boulder credit. As such, Education Abroad program Fees for non-residents include an additional charge, currently set at $1800. The fee is subject to change and is used to suport CU Boulder Education Abroad. The fee does not apply to CU Boulder Global Intensives.

Items included in the Program Fee

Instructional costs, orientation, housing & some meals (depending on housing selection: meals or food stipend provided to supplement expense), international health insurance, and administrative fees to CU Boulder Education abroad.

Items included in the Estimated Costs

Round-trip travel to program site, remaining meals, room & meals during the vacation periods, field trips, residence permit, passport fees, local transportation, books and personal expenses. NOTE: The cost estimates do not include personal travel. ATTENTION: The cost of living in Denmark will be the same as or greater than what you may be accustomed to in the U.S.

Fee Exceptions

  • If you arrange your own Independent Housing, an adjustment will be made to your bill once we have received notification from DIS. The housing portion of your fee will be credited and replaced with the DIS student services fee. If you make changes to the academic component of your program within 30 days prior to the program start date or after arrival, an adjustment will be made to your bill with any applicable DIS change fee(s) once we have received notification from DIS. Semester or AY students who add a summer program will receive a tuition fee reduction of $500 off the summer program fee. Summer students who add a fall semester program will receive a tuition fee reduction of $1,000 off the fall semester program fee.
  • For students who incur additional fees not included in your CU Program Costs (ie. Legal Residence Process Fees, Cell Phone Fees, etc.), they will be billed and paid directly through DIS.

If for any reason you withdraw before or during the course of the program, CU Boulder Education Abroad and DIS must be notified in writing. You are responsible for the corresponding withdrawal fee based on the date of your withdrawal. Any fees paid directly to DIS, such as optional add-ons or additional fees, are not included in the withdrawal fee schedule and may or may not be refunded by DIS.
