Non-Resident Fee: State of Colorado policy requires that non-residents must pay more than residents for CU Boulder credit. As such, Education Abroad program Fees for non-residents include an additional charge, currently set at $1800. The fee is subject to change and is used to suport CU Boulder Education Abroad. The fee does not apply to CU Boulder Global Intensives.

Items included in the Program Fee
Instructional costs, housing, field trips, international health insurance (inc. required NZ StudentSafe coverage), and administrative fee to CU Boulder Education Abroad.

Round-trip travel to program site, meals, visa fees, passport fees, local transportation, books and personal expenses. NOTE: The cost estimates do not include personal travel.
Fee Exceptions
- Students choosing options other than what is included in the base program fee will be billed by and payable to WorldStrides for those additional charges. By choosing other options there may be additional out-of-pocket expenses that are the responsibility of the student.
- You are responsible for an additional $95 deposit paid directly to WorldStrides which is applied towards the program fee.
- The personal expense estimate includes the cost of a NZ student vWorldStrides for US citizens when submitting their vWorldStrides application from inside the US (approx $65 USD). Fees vary by country and students with citizenship from other countries should anticipate vWorldStrides fees ranging from approx. $300 - $500 USD.
- The housing included in fee is an estimate and is subject to change. Depending on your choice of housing, the appropriate adjustment will be applied to your account upon receipt of the final notification from WorldStrides. For students who choose to stay in a less expensive housing option, your CU Boulder account will be credited. For students who choose to stay in a more expensive housing option, your CU Boulder account will be charged.

If for any reason you withdraw before or during the course of the program, CU Boulder Education Abroad and WorldStrides must be notified in writing. You are responsible for the corresponding withdrawal fee based on the date of your withdrawal. Any fees paid directly to WorldStrides, such as housing deposits, optional add-ons, or additional fees, are not included in the withdrawal fee schedule and may or may not be refunded by WorldStrides.
